SafeSport
To report a concern about behavior that may fall under the policies of SafeSport.
In order to “provide a safe environment for its members that is free of abuse and harassment,” US Figure Skating recently introduced its SafeSport program. Under the program, member clubs are required to appoint a SafeSport Compliance Chair whose specific duties include the following:
- Monitoring the SafeSport policies and procedures of the club.
- Verifying that all of the coaches who are engaged in any type of coaching activity with any club skater are in compliance with the U.S. Figure Skating coaching membership rules regarding background checks and continuing education requirements.
- Serve as the initial contact in the club for persons to report suspected abuse, misconduct or other violations, and when necessary, report such information to U.S. Figure Skating.

The U.S. Figure Skating SafeSport Program addresses the following types of abuse, harassment and misconduct:
- Sexual abuse and misconduct
- Physical abuse and misconduct
- Emotional abuse and misconduct
- Bullying, threats and harassment
- Hazing
- Willfully tolerating misconduct
