The MCFSC welcomes you to our growing club. We are excited to be working with you and teaching you the basic skills required to become a great skater. Our knowledgeable and enthusiastic coaches will offer a fun and creative environment to make learning new skills fun and easy. Besides working towards earning your group badge, you may also show your learned skills to friends and family at our Spring Ice Show and our Basics Competition. MCFSC Basic Skills Directors
The Basic Skills program is designed by U.S. Figure Skating to be the best beginning ice skating program that is fun, challenging and rewarding.
The curriculum is designed to keep skaters enthusiastic about learning from the time they begin lessons until the time they reach their goals. Whether your goal is to achieve Olympic fame or simply enjoy the recreational benefits of skating, Basic Skills is for you!
The objectives of the program are:
- To provide a fun and safe skating experience for the beginner as well as the more advanced skater
- To teach correct technique of the basic elements of skating
- To promote physical fitness
- To have fun!
Basic Skills Classes are for everyone age 4 and up. Skaters must turn 4 within the session to be accepted.
